"It is a happy talent to know how to play."

~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

The Readiness Preschool classrooms are for children who are not receiving an educational experience prior to starting kindergarten. Children need to be four years old by August 31st of the current school year. Families must also meet income guidelines and other program requirements. These classrooms are full-day (7:45am-3:00pm), with a shortened schedule on Wednesday (7:45am-12:00pm). They are taught by certified early childhood teachers and are in session 5 days per week.

The Peer Model Preschool classrooms are for children between the ages of 3-5 who would provide developmentally appropriate models for children receiving early childhood special education services. These classrooms are half-day, taught by a special education teacher, and are in session 4 days per week (no class on Wednesdays).

Preschool dynamics include:

  • Certified classroom teachers
  • Research-based curriculum
  • Developmentally appropriate activities that are rich in language development
  • Family Fun Nights
  • Low adult/child ratios
  • Nutritious meals
  • Full or half day sessions available

Our full day pre-k readiness classrooms include:

  • Breakfast, lunch, and snack
  • Large group instruction (Circle, Library, Music)
  • Small group instruction (Centers)
  • Individual instruction
  • Recess (morning and afternoon)
  • Nap time
  • Free play
  • Drink, hand-washing, and restroom breaks

Our half day pre-k peer model classrooms include:

  • Snack
  • Large group instruction (Circle, Library, Music)
  • Small group instruction (Centers)
  • Individual instruction
  • Recess (one time per session)
  • Free play
  • Drink, hand-washing, and restroom breaks

Our goal is to provide each child with developmentally appropriate activities, including but not limited to: art, music, storytime, social experiences, child-directed activities as well as teacher-initiated activities that promote individual growth and development and progress toward meeting curriculum guidelines and preschool benchmarks.
